Level measurement - pneumatic, continuous

General Informations

Pneumatic level sensing is a well-tried and reliable process; it is particularly suitable for harsh conditions such as in wastewater plant.

Two versions are available

a) Open pneumatic system

Air is added to the system continually or in certain intervals by means of a diaphragm compressor.

b) Closed pneumatic system

This process involves applying hydrostatic pressure at the point of measurement to the air which is enclosed in the system at atmospheric pressure.

Advantages of both systems

    - Absolutely no electrical or mechanical components are used at the points where measurements are taken
    - The measuring tube can be designed to meet the toughest of conditions
    - Components at measuring points that are difficult to access will not have to be replaced at a later date
